The Spanish Astroparticle community is coordinated by RENATA (REd NAcional Temática de Astropartículas) which brings together most of the Spanish groups, both theoretical and experimental, that work in this type of Physics and which emerges in 2006 as a fusion of two previous initiatives, one theoretical and one experimental.

The experiments in which the Spanish groups involved in RENATA work cover all Astroparticle lines: neutrinos, dark matter, dark energy, gravitational waves, gamma beams and cosmic beams: ALHAMBRA, AMS, ANAIS, ANTARES, ArDM, Auger, CTA, DES, GAW, GEO600, JEM-EUSO, KM3NeT, LIGO, LISA, MAGIC, NeXT, ROSEBUD, Super-Kamiokande, SuperNemo…

The enormous scientific potential of this field has in turn led to the granting of several CONSOLIDER projects in recent years such as, CPAN (Centro Nacional de Física de Partículas, Astropartículas y Nuclear) which aims to the creation of a permanent national center, MULTIDARK which studies the problem of dark matter from a multidisciplinary point of view and PAU (Physics of the Accelerating Universe) or CUP (Canfranc Underground Physics) which approach the problem of the dark energy and the nature of the neutrino respectively.
